The trouble is that Labor & Coalition are both responsible, and the rest struggle to be heard. By this stage, the Libs may be able to separate their previous sins re. the PHM, from the current extravagant spending.
BTW Prue Goward recently wrote about her time as a minister responsible for planning etc. She said that ,with one exception ,
whenever new developments were proposed for just about any place in NSW the local member , regardless of party would strongly oppose that new development,
John, the more you expose the greater my disgust. You’ve exposed errors of judgement on a gargantuan scale. How dare they ruin so much in favour of so little. Keep up the good work.
John, rather than whinging about the profligacy at the PHM, you and I should be throwing our hat in the ring for a job there and climbing on board the gravy train. in years to come we will regret the missed fiscal opportunity
Thank you,John, for your intensive delving into these issues so that we don't have to. This and the Death by Fun article give rise to real concern as to what on earth is going on. The whole 'Swiftie' thing is bad enough and now this . I really wonder how all this crazy stuff can go on whilst the other galleries/museums are so deprived . It's shameful.
Thanks, Claudia. I don't understand why everyone seems so comfortable with all this dubious behaviour. What I'm writing should be standard fare in a properly functioning media.
Indeed it should. When I talk to friends here, round about, they have no idea . They think the PHM is all fabulous and seem unaware of the other galleries and their situation, yet they brag about reading the weekend papers cover to cover and think they are across it all. I gave up the mainstream press ages ago, and especially when your column was dropped. Nothing to see there anymore.
Amen. The interesting part is that even the SMH seems to feel obliged to take a more critical stance re. the PHM, after billing & cooing over every press release. The glaring injustices are becoming too bloated to ignore.
Hi John, still wondering why my comment was removed. What was my misdemeanour? I don't recall exactly what I said except that yes maybe the press were starting to take note.
PS ‘ unfaithful servant’ might be appropriate 👍
Good grief! This is mind boggling.
My thoughts precisely. And it's been going on for years...
Seriously what does it require for something like this to be referred to ICAC ?
A very good question. It puts Daryl and Gladys in the shade.
Daryl was a very small time shonk , the kind that will always be with us
Nothing small time about the Powerhouse
Does it require a pollie to do something or what?
It sure smells to high heaven

the one exception was the member for Parramatta….
PS this whole Create sector is really reminiscent of Johs Queensland or possibly the Askin years in NSW
Do away with criticism and investigative journalism & those good ole days are back. We need a Fitzgerald report into govt. arts funding

Maintain the age, Jeff!

I think it's too late for me, Stephen. Why don't you try for a post and make me an Associate?

Taking note is one thing, take action is another

John has the Folsom Prison blues today…
Jefferey the create village is looking like the kind of place that Yojimbo would know how to deal with 🙂
There I was thinking it was the bands unfaithful servant 🙂
I get it:
"Unfaithful servant, I can hear the whistle blowing
Yes, that train is a-coming and soon you'll be going
Let us not bow our heads for we won't be complaining"
“ did you do it just for the spite, or did you do it just for the glory”
When I was just a baby, my mama told me, "Son
Always be a good boy, don't ever play with guns"
But I shot a man in Reno just to watch him die
When I hear that whistle blowin', I hang my head and cry’
