I think this whole episode has been an embarrassment because of its reactive nature rather than a considered view by CA. Look at the vision and ask whether it provides a unique perspective on issues that are close to the artist . The identity of the artist has to take second place to that
I don't even think of it in terms of left or right Harry. but If we've made ourselves in a cultural welfare state, the welfare needs to be fairly distributed. I'm sceptical of those artists who live almost exclusively off the public purse
