Thanks for pointing me to the ludicrous ABC puff for the Tate show, John. But far worse than the mis-spelling of Emily's name is the incorrect assumption that the Alawarreye women spoken about are Emily's grandchildren. She had no offspring. And then there's the failure to question Kelli Cole about her role in the NT's chaotic ATSIAGA/National Aboriginal Art Gallery saga. She was appointed senior curator there at one time.

Finally, a small point - Oxford Uni awards DPhils not PhDs!

As you can see, Jeremy, I don't have DPhil from Oxford. Yes, these questions are worth asking.

John, love the breath and depth of your post as always but I am curious why you titled it Chaos Theory. Do you mean the situation being a chaos or chaotic?

Chaos Theory is a mathematical framework to study chaotic systems which tend to show deterministic patterns where the starting point makes a huge difference in the outcome like weather systems.

Hi John. Interesting as usual . But you might be interested to check how much has 'trickled down' to the public from taxes and royalties from miners' BHP and Rio alone over the last decade.

Well Labor's first budget benefited immensely from these royalties, but remember when they mooted a Super Profits tax and Gina & co. went on the warpath? If some of this resources revenue was sensibly spent on base level arts funding, there'd be less room to complain, but culture is always the first area to suffer cuts.
